Apple provides a German-English Oxford dictionary which is excellent. You can install multiple dictionaries on your iPhone or iPad (just go to Settings > General > Dictionary) and use them everywhere (including in iBooks) by long pressing and selecting “look up”. you can get the English definition for the English word ferruginous or the German definition of the German word eisenhaltig, but not vice versa. Simply tap/click a word and read on!
